Challenging the status quo is the only way to transform and evolve as human beings. By doing so, the change is inevitable, yet most people refuse to embrace it. Change creates the fear factor and becomes the catalyst for people’ stagnation.
If we think for a moment, we realize nothing is certain in this life. Everything is changing constantly, yet we are still reluctant to change. In a way, it does not make sense. Of course, every one of us is different and deals with uncertainty in their own way. For some, it means opportunities, while for others it means trouble. I think it is a matter of perception.
For me, it always meant opportunity. Since I was a little child, I was very curious about everything and it became a way of exploring, learning, and growing. I always wanted to become the best version of myself and by pushing my limits on all levels, physically, mentally, and emotionally it helped me discover myself. With every step I take, I notice I am capable of doing things I could have never imagined.
This process is exciting, it is a great experience, and I realized this is what keeps me going. I will never get bored because discovering this piece of life is a journey on itself. Will I ever achieve it? Probably not, but at least I embarked on this expedition. Is it easy? Certainly not, as it requires a lot of work. Nothing comes easy in life; however, once we take the decision then we move forward.
What I have learned over the years is that we choose to either act or react to change. It is up to us if we embrace it or reject. The change is not the problem, rather our experience about it. Are we responding consciously or compulsively? If we respond consciously then we decide our experience; otherwise, we just react compulsively and suffer greatly.
Many situations in life are out of our control, but the only thing we can control is how we feel about them. A perfect example is this pandemic, a change that was forced upon all of us. What can we do? Should we delve on all questions and opinions, or should we just embrace it and deal with it to the best of our ability?
Without hesitation, we can say to this date, these are the most challenging times of our generation. There is so much uncertainty, what this virus is, its consequences, the fear of getting it, the fear of death, and the unknown of the future takes a toll of most people’s wellbeing. Because so much is out of our control, we should only focus on us, and the actions we can take.
Using this time to strengthen our health is of utmost importance. Cutting all the outside noise and turning inwards is one of the solution. Practicing yoga or meditation is helping us become stable internally, and deal accordingly with the any outside situations. In other words, what is happening outside is no longer debilitating us.
Let us be opened, embrace change and see it as an opportunity rather than a problem! Stabilize our interiority so we can deal with anything that comes our way! Remember, how we experience life in general is manufactured by us and comes from within. Therefore, let us enhance ourselves!
