Well-being is the foundation to a happy and fulfilled life. It is a state and is achieved only when our mind, body, life energies, and emotions are in alignment. We must find the balance between our physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Once we attain this state, it trickles down to every aspect of our lives; physically, mentally, socially, financially, etc. How do we know it? Because we feel how life just happens to us; everything we do is effortless. Nothing from the outside world affects us, and a pleasant state is established within us. Joy and happiness become a normal and constant state, regardless of what is happening in the outside world.
We came into this world with well-being. Remember, the health and exuberance you had as a child. However, as we grow up and our idea of life changes, we start to lose touch with this state. Naturally, as life takes its course, we move from the phase of just being to doing, until we finally move on to having. In the last decades, the being was ignored, and the focus shifted to having, such as how to create wealth. The meaning of well-being got lost and replaced with wealth, what we have, and our possessions. The result is unhappiness, stress, anxiety, and illnesses both physically and mentally.
The time to change the paradigm has come. Every one of us has the responsibility to take control of our well-being. To be well, we need to re-learn and re-focus on just being. Then, the doing comes effortlessly and the having becomes a consequence. In this way, being happy, peaceful, and loving is the way we are and is no longer just something we pursue but never attain. We consciously choose what we put in our mind and body and no longer allow our thoughts and emotions to rule how we feel.
